A nice stroke of luck for me yesterday as i walked up Gledhow Valley road. The gates to the Gipton Spa Bath were open. The friends of Gledhow Valley woods were cleaning it out ready for the Heritage open day on Sunday14.9.08. It's open 12-4 and well worth a look. The woods themselves are nice to walk around. Little Switzerland (Gledhow lane) is very photgenic. I just happened to have my camera with me as well. I've put some shots up and history of the spa bath, there is also a link to the Friends of Gledhow woods website and the work they do under the pictures here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn/    Cheers

I have been to the open day too to the Spa House...Very nice and pleasant inside, cold albeit but there was a lantern in the fireplace last time There is also latin writing on the wall if I remember and because the toerags of todays society stole the Yorkshire Stone roofing, the spa was actually full of rainwater and muck.I also visited the "eco" house around the corner too - Definately worth a visit
