We played there as kids, prior to demolision. Here is the best photo I can find on Leodis. The view is of the other side looking up from the road. http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... 31911today, you can still see the old stone steps that used to lead up to the house, but there fenced off now, as the land now belongs to Skinners scrap I can see it now you mention it Si, the flats in the background are the one opposite the old bingo/picture house on Tong Road?
Sit thissen dahn an' tell us abaht it.

No, their Clyde flats, more or less behind the the old Crown pub and bingo hall. The ones you mention would be too far over to the left to be able to see, in that photo. Their the Wortley Towers your on about, but you were in the right place, more or less.

This is a great game! Number 3 looks a bit like the building by the Chemic on Woodhouse Street, but if it is then they didn't get very far with the demolition process, as that building is still there.

12. Undated. This detached brick-built house is Georgian in style and is thought to have been situated in Osmondthorpe Lane, but may have been demolished in the 1930s. We would be interested to know the exact location of the property and any other information, including the name of it.http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... 826_166029
