Found this on Leodis, it's the only image they seem to have of this building, but doesn't cover it all. A drapers, but thats long before my time! Phil, in your photo of the "trespassers" sign you can see the leters DER. Maybe the old sign of Gelder Bro, from the Leodis pic. Looks like it to me!http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... 8_53567141

Hey great detective work Simon. It looks like you've solved the old sign mate! We won't mention the 'M' word though I think the place is beyond restoration by all reports. It's condemned.Great find with the lyrics Chris! Happy singing SLW.Seen as i'm on a bit of a trivia trip today with the flying pigs e.t.c. Panic isn't the only song to mention Leeds. Dire Straits sing about 'all the trendy boys in London and yes in Leeds. In the Gallery song here.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3D7DmKiDsAAny more Leeds songs guys?

and, trivia fans, the DJ Moz was referring to in'Panic' was none other than Steve Wright!!

Think you're right about the Hall Phill, I've seen similar reports auggesting it to be beyond redemption - all too common with expensive listed structures - listed to preserve them , but no actual requirement to do anything to them. Those lyrics - what's the line about burning dsco?? Or did I missread it.....

Well this is it.. How long have we been reading about this place yet still nothing ever happens does it?Good find there Chris. Can't say I've ever heard that one before. The leads singers is certainly better looking than Mark Knopfler that's for sure

They nearly made it to the big time in the mid 80's. They were gigging all over the shop, and they were to be found sat in the darkest corner, with the rest of the musos, in t'Faversham.
