I never saw it to be honest. I didn't know anything about it. It will all be forgotten again by next week.

It's only a temporary roof as far as i know. I believe he was threatened with emergency works order if he didn't comply. Not sure if the owner is footing the bill. or the council are billing him. No renovation work is starting, and i doubt very much it will. Not with it's listed status and the tight restrictions on what you can do with a building like that, far too much money involved for anyone to touch them. The building has had it in all honesty, the fabric is soaked.

While I was in the Local History section of the Leeds Central Reference Library today (Oct 27 2011) I spotted a folder titled 'Plans of York Road Library'. The contents consist of a number of architects drawings going back to 1902. There are some fascinating features shown on the plans. Far too many to note here but included in the 1902 plans for example are such as 'Dressing room for scholars', 'Gent's second class slipper baths', 'Ladies slipper baths'. 'Laundry', 'Coal shed'. There were bed rooms and a kitchen and much more. The folder is a cream coloured one in a shelving area to the right of the reception desk and the photocopier. Its colour stands out!
