Our in laws live in France and despite there being direct flights to LBA from their local airport, they will choose to fly into East Midlands or Liverpool when visiting West Yorkshire rather than endure the LBA 'customer experience'.Horrendous delays getting through the airport after landing due to inadequate staffing is a typical problem, to the point where getting from plane to car park takes longer than the actual flight from France. And then there's the fact the airport management know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Thanks for the heads-up cnosi -- now to be organised enough to remember to go out and try, unsuccessfully no doubt, to photograph it. On the more general subject of the thread I like to fly to and from LBA. The queue at immigration does tend to get long but I have always found that security on the way out is cleared quickly and politely (I find Manchester security a little rude) and the process at both ends of the flight generally pleasant. I also enjoy the, what I have heard described as, "carrier deck" landings in crosswinds -- I was enjoying it too much to point out the the man in the seat in front who suggested it was a little bumpy that the plane was probably pointing at 45 degrees to it's course over the ground with a ground-speed of the average family car or less.
