A the auction some rich guy bought it and turned it into an urban exploration headquarters with photo galleries lol. Lets hope dreams come true (Maybe phill's going to win the Lottery ) It'd be the Penthouse lifestyle for me mate. Birds & bubbly in an open air swimming pool, I'd not be living on York road that's for sure! I'd be right behind you phill (or at least, next door). Could buy the tunnels too and sell tickets

My wife worked for Leeds Libraries from 1963 and as a part of CD (Circulation Dept) she visited York Road Library every Thursday from 1965 for a number of years and she does not remember the baths being open.

The library is mentioned again in tonights YEP - apparently the former toilets at Roundhay park (with planning permission to convert into a sandwich shop / refreshment bar!) are expected to fetch around £25,000 in the same auction.

The library never made it to auction, however it is up for sale by private treaty now.http://www.eddisons.com/pages/auctionca ... n=24&Page=

The result of that would likely to be little more than steel sheeting put over the roof to keep the rain out, the same as they do with the listed buildings, officially 'at risk' where they are the owners!Sad, but quite eveident. There is no general requirement for an owner to maintain a listed structure it seems.
