I don't believe you Mr Brunel. I was just this very minute going to post about this place lol I photographed it only last week myself I was at this very moment trying to find out about the place on Leodis. The caption says.25th April 1933. Stone gateway and gatehouse at corner of Gledhow Lane and Church Lane, with semi-detached houses under construction. The stone arch seems to have been demolished these days. And the comment on the Leodis website here sayshttp://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?resourceIde ... mComment:I live in the lodge on the right of the picture. This lodge was the lodge to the Manor but I have very little knowledge of the Manor itself. Can anybody help me?*

I was going to do a detailed post on Secret Leeds about these gatehouses, old maps and such. But in the end I just couldn't be bothered lol I decided to do a scaled down version and just keep the photo set small on flickr. I kept to the more unusual, or nicer designed gatehouses around Leeds. Some have been seen on here before, others not.The Little gatehouses of Leeds set of photos can be seen here if anyone wants to take a look http://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn ... 14/detail/

Excellent set of gatehouse photos Phill. Not only is the subject great but the quality of your photos is superb. I notice there seem to be no passing people in the photos. You must be either very lucky or very patient waiting for people to go out of shot. It's becoming ever harder to take photos that do not have people and/or street fixtures/fitments in the way (wheeliebins are a particular nuisance). PS. I hope your "But in the end I just couldn't be bothered lol" is not a sign that you are losing interest in SL and/or projects, as that would be a shame.PPS. It's fine out just now but I'm going into town in the pm so I best warn people that it will turn wet, as rain just loves to be around when I'm out.

The building just up the driveway is Manor House, it used to be a doctor's surgery but they moved a short distance away to Manor Park surgery a number of years ago. Manor House is offices now I think.

So that gatehouse does look to be a candidate as belonging to the manor house?
