There is a piece in tonights YEP (which I can't find on their less than wonderful website) that says the owners of Temple Mills have applied for permission to use the building as a venue for art exhibitions, displays, etc in the short term, once the essential repairs are completed. It goes on to say that they are looking to get the buidling into some sort of use as quickly as possible, with the previously planned redevelopment going ahead when possible.Meanwhile, there is a nice period pic of Temple Mills here: http://www.leeds.gov.uk/lastingmoment/G ... osition=88

There is an interesting piece about this property in this week's edition of "Private Eye", written by their Architectural Correspondent, who is very concerned about the state of the building. The article in the YEP referred to on page 1 of this thread gives the owner of the Mill as SJS Properties. According to Private Eye the owners of SJS are the Barclay Brothers, multi millionaires, who live a somewhat reclusive life on their private Channel Island. Amongst other things they also own the Daily Telegraph.
