The tower & clock are staying http://tinyurl.com/nmnpnew Cheers for that link uncle mick (and also polo). It's interesting to read the following in the YEP article (which is dated April 17 2014):- "The site is set to become a ‘temporary’ 500-space car park with a separate section for public services vehicles, but its long-term future is yet to be decided. The buyer is said to be exploring options. Tim Waring of Quod, planning advisors to the developer, said: “ Given it is such a high profile site and one of the ‘first impressions’ people get when arriving in Leeds, the car park is an essential temporary measure while the plans for the site’s final redevelopment evolve. “As such, our plans involve high quality landscaping and a major environmental enhancement, benefitting this part of the city during the period between demolition and redevelopment.” ".I was surprised that the long-term future of the site seems not to be known yet. I would not be too surprised if in a few years time that it was still a car park! Oh, and could "public service vehicles" mean trolleybuses!

Hi Jim hope you're wellYes I saw some of that from the inbound inner ring road. I don't know the river as well as the canal but it should be a good view from the oppo shore. Also for photographers interested, there's a multi storey car park next door to it for ringside shotshttp://goo.gl/maps/JVqXI

Hi Jogon, I'm fine, trust you are the same. My view of the site is from a little higher up than yours, top deck of a No16 bus!

Today's progress - the concrete gobblers have now reached and begun to remove the middle of the Wellington Street facade of the YEP buildings. On the same journey I noticed that the barren waste next to the old Wellesley Hotel is full of plant etc, and it looks like new piling is to take place. About time someone did something with the site.
