Having read through all of the posts, it brough back a few smiles, mentioning schools that my mum had taught at and me and my brother attended.St Gemmas before it was a hospice. My brother went to St Micks and i was over the wall at Leeds Grammar School Junior School, not Leeds Boys Grammar School as a previous poster ( and many others) used to call school. It's amazing how many people attended schools which claimed to perform as well as the Grammar School. Strangely, the waiting list was never empty :-).When i went there there was a great mix of backgrounds, incomes and religions.Sadly the labour muppets in power in the early-mid 70s soon changed that.

I went to Ossy infants and junior school up to 1955 when I passed the 11 Plus and went elsewhere, so I never went to the senior part of Ossy School. Sadly no particular memories other than once hitting my head very hard on a heavy metal gate. Also having a 'fight' with a taller lad in junior school whose 'gang' I refused to join. We both had to see a teacher, who for punishment hit us hard on the knuckles with a wooden pencil case. I did not cry but the would be bully did! Funny the things we remember!

Hi Lyndoch I was at Armley Park from 1963 and remember Frank Hinchcliffe,Daddy Gamble(GEOG),Mrs Hopkins(RE),Mr Chapman(ENGLISH) some of whom may have been there then. You also mention Edward Kerfoot,I do know Ronnie Kerfoot and I also remember the accident on the Zebra Crossing at the jct of Branch Rd/Armley Rd where sadly Susan Kerfoot was killed this would have been around 63/64.She would have been maybe 12 or 13 years old.Did you ever go down in the cellars of the old school for the extra lessons(nudge nudge wink wink)

You're right, it is amazing what we remember and also what seems hugely important as a youngster.I remember dreading getting to school late on school trip days, not sure why as we were always early...

Lyndoch wrote: This is my last attempt! Lyndoch, there are issues surrounding attaching photos. First one being afaik Internet Explorer is the only browser that you can use to do it (firefox and Opera are definitely out as is I think Chrome). Secondly even if using IE there is a file size restriction although if you overstep that a croppsin tool does or at least did appear last time I fell foul of that one.
