Leeds Lost Schools

My brothers went to South Accomodation and I ended up at Hunslet Carr, before moving to Osmondthorpe - Happy Days

I attended Thoresby High from 1962-1968 - maiden name Care - really loved those years and 'gazing' at the boys from our 1st floor classrooms - amazing how many romances were formed that way

When I was at Leeds Central High from 1955 to 1962 I was in love with a girl called Anne Harrison at Thorseby High. She'll have been blissfully unaware of it though 'cos I never summoned up the courage to accost her; I just admired her impressively adult assets through the railings. The one link we ever managed to establish with Thoresby girls was when Mr Sterne, the for me immortal history teacher who ran our philatelic society, took the then revolutionary decision to make it a joint one with Thorseby. Had some very interesting encounters as a result - seldom anything to do with philately - but unfortunately Anne Harrison doesn't seem to have been a stamp collector.

I meant well... it was my intention to put Armley National Schoolonto this site but because of my lack of computer knowledge seems to have appeared elsewhere.. I see I have had at least 149 viewsbut only 4 replies...Are there any Armley Old Boy's / Girls out there?Thanks Lyndoch

Yes Lyndoch. I posted elsewhere but does Fred or Freddy Sanderson mean anything to you. I was a lad attending this school from 1941 to 1950.I had two older brothers, one younger all attended at some time.I too would love to hear from any lads and lasses who might remember me or maybe I wasn't the memorable type. lol. Another of the few names I remember was Roy Crowther, I did contact him a long time ago now.
