Arry, cheers for the info, waiting for the photos' of the BV rd area. Growing up in the late 60's early 70's in Bamley, ALL of my dads DIY gear came from Forrest Products, cracking shop, even down to the free sawdust and wood shavings for my hamster in latter years!! lol! What you said about Wellington Road is close, but not the whole Tomalli, as the Armicans say! There is no Saab dealer, but a decent sized used car dealer. Funnily enough, next door to the Iron mongers Geo Spence! The car dealer is in the old Mosely Stone premesis who used to make paint brushes and is now on Gelderd road, next door to the Lexus garage.Geo spence's used to be on the other side of the road, but smack in the middle of, what is now, the Armley Gyratory. The old road can still be seen on the far side, next to the bridge.

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

The Tivoli in Middleton - still a bingo hall - a bit of a rarity in itself now

The Majestic now the 'Majestyk' night club. I remember my gran' taking me and my sister to see 'The Sound of Music' here. Laurel and Hardy once appeared on the balcony overlooking City Square (late 40s/early50s) - judging by the number of people I've heard claim to have seen them then there must have been about a quarter of a million in City Square!

Drapesy lad - WONDERFUL pics there! I'd forgotten what a wonderful building the Clock was! Had to laff at you mentioning "The Sound of Music" at the Majestic! I think it ran for about 3 years there consecutively? My dear departed Gran and her sister, my great Auntie Susie must have seen it a hundred times whilst it was showing there! :-) (Right, 'Arry?)...Asked me Gran if I could take her out for her birthday, when I was finally old enough to be earning. "Oooh, can we go see Sound of Music at the Majestic?" Bless her :-) As to the Odeon - when Dusty Springfield played there, my mate's sister was one of the makeup girls the Odeon hired in. She organised a walk out of the backstage crew, after Dusty groped her and tried to kiss her! :-O So Dusty went onstage with a half made beehive hairdo and minus her fake eyelashes! :-)
You can take the lad out of Leeds - but you can't take the Leeds out of the lad.

There were two in Rothwell, the Keypak building and where Blackburn Hall is now it was originally a much nicer cinema. The clown house in Woodlesford is also an ex cinema.
