A pratt from Sheffeid council said it was a public scandal that Leeds should get this cash! Gigs wise Leeds has hosted the best bands in the history of modern music at many Leeds venues.Still I suppose if we get an arena we can have disney on ice and X factor specials.I'll be in the O2 or the grove.Where I can actually see the band, and they can see me. Opera glasses or big video screen anyone?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-11508127£5.8 million to be spent on revamping the Woodhouse Lane multi storey car park so folk have somewhere nice to sit for two hours after a gig at the Arena before being allowed out onto the Inner Ring Road (Anyone who has even used the on-site multi storey at the MEN Arena will know what I mean!)It seems an awful lot of money doesn't it, £5.8 million?Still, where public money is concerned it can cost £20k to change a lightbulb...

I'll offer to do it for only £10K. I shall however let you all into a secret free method though. Shush keep it quiet. All raise your hands, as many hands make light work. Sorry for that!

The public transport issue for post event was mentioned during the "wrangling" period.LCC said that they would be working with the bus operators to provide buses to other car parks and the train station, something that doesnt happen at the MEN.As for Woodhouse car park then this was always mooted as the main event car park.Delays getting in and out for an event will probably be less than the MEN,given its proximity to the inner ring road, where as the MEN is slap bang in the middle of the city with no motorway standard (and i use those words guardedly) infrastucture close by,hence i always go there on the train.Sheffields shed isnt any better for getting out of,so i park up at Meadowhall and use the tram.£5.8m is a lot of money, lets hope that it will also be part of improvements to getting in and out from the inner ring road. I dont think you should get too down Lee,this arena looks like it should be the bees knees, though im sure it will be far from perfect,it is Leeds after all!!
