my mother used to work at Henry Berrys as a tracer, and when she passed we discovered an old tracing that she had done. It is very detailed and I was wondering if there was somewhere that would be interested in having it. She produced it back in 1955, perhaps there is a museum that would be interested. I look forward to seeing any response

Hello Tilly, yes still knocking about... hope you are well too, I look on this site most days but don't always log in. It's a great site, i hope it keeps going for many years.

My great-grandfather William Turner studied ectrucal engineering at Birmingham and founded Tramway Supplies, which became Yorkshire Switchgear, to exoit hus invenymtion of an autonatic points-changing switch fir overhead tramwires. He built the factory in Meanwood amd lived in a house by the mill pond with his family. My mother remembers visiting them - her father and uncles worked for the firm - and the swans who lived on the pond. I remember my great-grandmother, who had been the company administrator for many years, as a firmidable old widowed lady who lived at the top of Scot Hall Road - she died aged 102. My grandfather moved to Scarborough when the firm built a factory there in the late 1950's.

Howson Algraphy. I was a Fitter there between 1977 and 2002, just come down with a high grade bladder cancer the Urologist put down to chemicals I came in contact with 30 years ago. I moved to Arizona USA in 2009 lost touch with everyone, any body left who knows of any similar cases.
