Thats why i say at the start of this thread " zoom in and press the birdseye button"I don't say "go onto Virtual earth and have a look at the 2D version that's roughly 2yrs old" do i??     Agreed Brandy but my first post was looking at the Birds Eye view, and much is rather older than you suggested but then, as I acknowledged yesterday, I too have now found some examples which are very recent - but they can't be newer than say September last. It is quite a hotch-potch, but very usable!

I've had a look at my house and the pics appear to have been taken last summer. In the default birds eye pic my car is outside my house with a yellow car in front of it and an ftr bus is coming up the street (ftr's have only been running for about a year). If I rotate the image though I get a different pic with no bus in sight and a silver car parked in front of mine. Rotate it again and the yellow car is back but still no bus, although a new car not seen before is now parked behind mine. The images have shadows that would suggest some pics were taken early morning, with others late morning / lunchtime.Blooming good quality though!

The overhead view of my work is seriously out of date as their is a building there where my car is now parked. It must be over 8 years out of date as that building was demolished in 2000.I work in the Canal Road branch of Farnell for your info. The birds eye veiw however is maybe a year-ish old.

Brandy, I have no qualm that the images of City Sq are not good, but I still maintain that the aerial images of my house are about 2 years out of date and much grainier than those of Google Earth!
