BLAKEY wrote: .......Also, in that corner entrance there used to be a newspaper seller called Joe Haigh (about forty years I think he was there) who used to call loudly "POOWWWWWWWST - FINAYYYLL." He was a wonderfu likeablel and obliging character. I didn't know his name Blakey but I remember Joe Haigh well. He was a permanent fixture at Headingley when there was a test match on, walking around the pitch from whenever the first edition came out. It was a bit later than it is these days. For some reason I seem to recall that he lived in Middleton. Is that right?

He used to stand at top of Middleton Park Grove on a Saturday "teatime" waiting for the "Football specials" to be dropped off. Then he would go down the road with his cry(final news or post).Joe was a Middleton resident, and he was also asked by the BBC to "quiten down" during a test match because his voice(selling papers) was interfering with the commentary.EDIT: http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... -1-2237807

I wonder what was being shown at the Odeon, as I can't make the film titles out?
