I'm a member already actually. I'm Bluesmoke! I signed up on here as that originally and forgot lol!I love 28dl. I used to live in East End Park and after nights out would often walk home and I used to stare through the gate of York Road LIbrary thinking "what the hell is in there" lol.Actually I did do a couple of things as a kid. Remember Victoria School on York Road just up from the library? We went in there out of curiosity just to see, so I guess I have it in me somewhere, although that was a good 15 years ago!My fave explores on 28dl are the bridges, railways and underground stuff, although I'm not a railways nut or anything like that. I just seem to find those explores interesting.I also scaled the old factory building in Newlay Woods near Horsforth as a kid. I climbed a tree at the side and jumped onto the roof LOL.

No it's good it's been sealed tight.. The urbexers don't cause the damage it's the druggies & chavs who do.. The place has been more or less an open door for years so anyone who hasn't photographed in there by now can only blame themselves. The place will end up a pile of burning rubble if it hadn't been locked down so nobody would be seeing it.. It's long overdue some work getting under way.

phill, have you ever done any schools?i'd love to have a nosey around allerton high before its demolished. my old school. i'd especially like to go up the towers at the sides as they were out of bounds. although i did go up one once but was so worried about being caught that i was in and out in about a second!i emailed them to ask if it was possible and they replied saying 'something' would be sorted out but they were very vague :-(

There's a lot of urbexers who look at any kind of empty building but i'm a bit more fussy as i'm mainly in it for the photography. Generally the place needs to be architecturally impressive or has a good story or any interesting feature e.t.c. Quite a few have looked at Eastmoor up at Adel but it doesn't float my boat. There's not much to be seen. I actually live up near Allerton High & was under the impression it was a modern day building? Just keep pestering the people you got in touch with in a nice way of course explaining you want to publish a 'history of the school' article/publication or something!
