I remember in the late 50's my Dad taking me to Ninevah Bridge to watch the trains, we lived nearby.The picture at the top of this post was actually a block of toilets.As to why they were needed in such a strange position is unkown.There was another block in a strange position on Gelderd Road opposite Petty's Printers.

Yes Phill the checks still exist on Dragon bridge, in fact during the modernisation of the bridge the curved walls at either end were carefully numbered block by block before being dismantled and then rebuilt in the same order.

Cheers buffaloskinner. I like old maps. I wonder what 'Training Centre (Girls)' taught?In Phill's second photo from the top of this thread there is a building on the right that seems to be being demolished. Does anyone know what it was?
