There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Saw a man stood on the scaffolding scraping away at the brickwork. It would be nice if they were to reinstate an old advert that appears to be underneath all of the red paint. (Anyone else noticed this?)Anyway, before the scaffolding went up I had a closer look at a notice that was in one of the windows - it was advertising some sort of tickets or travel cards (it was a while ago, can't quite remember) and was dated 1986!! Been closed a long time then.

Probably nothing to do with the subject but here goes.I once read that Barry Peter Prudom the cop killer had a corner shop possibly newsagent in Leeds. I also recall he was working in Saudi Arabia while his wife ran the shop. Its also said his wife was having an affair and this might have pushed him over the edge. There might be some reference to this in the book linked below with prudom on cover.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Yorkshire-Murde ... 1853064904

Unless they read this they'll know I'm often found wandering round Aldi at MeanwoodJogon:-(best Leeds posh accent) "Do you know who I am?!" Assistant:- "No Sir, but the label's hanging out of your shirt and your name's there" Jogon:-"I thang yoh" -leaves with theatrical flourish.
