I've just come across this old thread by chance. It reminded me of something that took me by surprise some years back (it would likely have been in the 1992 to 1994 period). When walking past the still then awaiting the start of development of much of the old empty looking buildings around Home Farm in Harewood I was surprised (to say the least!) to see a German soldier with a rifle passing across the farm road in front of me. I was even more surprised moments after to see several German soldiers and what seemed like a battle going on! It was only when I looked closer that I found there was filming going on, though at the time I did not know what for. It turned out to be for the BBC World War 2 drama series 'Seaforth' that was released in 1994. I even saw the scene in that which I had seen during my walk! The start of the redevelopment of the area soon began, to eventually become what is today's modern office complex there.

I can't divulge too much on a public forum as even its location is top secret. I shall only say that when I had a wadel (oops, sorry waddle) recently I accidentally came across it. I fear though I may have already said too much as GCHQ and Menwith Hill may be reading this forum.
