Indeed we do, mind you we are having a Christmas open all hours special with David Jason this year The reason I thought it was a pub is because it reminded me of the Mulberry pub. I can say I've seen any similar curved buildings still standing in Leeds, are there any left?

I'm assuming it's one of the last pics and I recognise Roundhay Road at the junction with Easterly Road and then Wetherby Road on the last photo but still can't find Oakwood Lane. Full size photo herehttp://tinyurl.com/lq9k9apMontague Court today stand where the tennis courts are on the 1951 photo.Oakwood Walk was built on the field behind Oakwood Lane. The big house you can see is Bedford House on the corner of Oakwood Grange Lane.

They are fascinating and I can't tell you how much I appreciate you letting us see them. Well, I can, actually. a lot :-)I was just wondering (I have looked but it is entirely possible I've missed it) if there are any of your photos that show the Badminton's on Roundhay Road / Roseville Road? I *think* they were just down from the traffic lights where the Archway is now, where the Gaiety used to be heading into Leeds. I ask because my mum grew up on Badminton Terrace (?!) and it would be great to see an aerial of that area.Again, thanks a million Phil. I have poured over this pix with great interest. Hi Argie. Many thanks. Glad you enjoyed them.http://tinyurl.com/nqhml47I'm afraid this seems to be the closest you'll get for the Roseville Road area. I haven't even worked out that area myself yet, is it Scott Hall Road, or Meanwood Road perhaps? Could be wrong, but were the Badminton's not off Roundhay Road, towards town, on the right just after Barrack Road. If so they are unfortunately just out of shot on the right of the 'photo that Phill just posted I think.

Full size map here http://tinyurl.com/lvzz4drJust found this great map to work out the area below. It's pretty hard to recognise today with the Inner Ring Road built through it. The area is roughly around the Y.E.P Wellington Bridge flyover. Full size photo herehttp://tinyurl.com/p6zwsbwAnd one of the building seen in the 1951 photo. The two photos must have been taken within weeks of each other as well. I might add some more old photos to some areas that no longer exist. 16th July 1951. Canteen of Wellington Foundry on South East end of Kirkstall Road between Bingley Street and Spark Street. This is a two storey plain brick building with casement windows possibly belonging to Fairbairn, Lawson, Combe, Barbour Ltd, engineers which are located on the opposite side of Kirkstall Road.http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... Good spot that, and it shows just how much in the aerial photo has been flattened over the years. The pub looks pretty sad on it's own like that. I was wondering what those arches were on the aerial photo, but looking at today's view it's pretty obvious what they were for. It's the next photo past the Highland pub area that's got me scratching my head a bit now.Full size photo herehttp://tinyurl.com/ofsg5r5
