Inside Horne's were all the Leeds school coats-of-arms arranged along the top of the rails where the blazers were hung. Ring any more bells?

A spending session in ray Allans, Cecil Gee(its a mobile phone shop now), Vallances, thence to the Kardomah(I think it's now the halifax)- not a bad saturday morning. Yes there was a Valances on the Headrow and a Valances on Vicar Lane opposite the Corn Exchange.

To be exact the road opposite the Corn Exchange is 'New Market Street' 'not Vicar Lane' but I know where you mean!
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

A triangular island with bus stops all around it, where the Guiness clock used to be.

Jim Windsors. A Leeds bookie. He had shops all over the area around Leeds in the sixties. He also had a club on Vicar Lane, above which was a neon sign of moving race horses that used to fascinate me when I was a kid. He also used to do a fixed odd coupon on the Rugby League.

Just thinking, I wonder how many people wandering around town on Saturday would know the name of the street they were in if asked?
