The Police Stables at Temple Newsam were at the top of the farm, just inside the wooden fence which runs parallel to The Avenue (the road from the Gatehouses to the House itself). There's nothing there now, it's the area at the back of the modern cowsheds. Hope this helps, it's not very easy to describe.

Thanks Bruno, I know where you mean. That's the section that sometimes has pigs in during the summer?
