Thanks all for your help and any that is yet to be given. I like the idea that the site might have been equivalent to a NCP (that should perhaps be NHP, as a National Horse Park business. ). Hopefully some history (if there is some available) of the sign may be found.Ah guineas! It's long long back that shops showed prices in guineas. 1 guinea sounds much more interesting than 105p (or even £1.05).

I took this photo of a very interesting 'Hepper & Sons' Horse & Carriage Repository' sign. Though I suspect it may be well known to many/most SL viewers I thought I would post the photo for those (like me) that were not already aware of it. I did a search of SL but did not find a mention, but in view of my poor searching ability not doubt there are mentions. I would be grateful if anyone could please give me some information or a link to information about the sign and/or the building's history. Shame that the lamppost (and its shadow) got in the way of a good photo. Hi, If you stand to the right of the building on the other side of the road you can get a photo without the lamppost being in the way. Well, nearly not in the way! I have only recently discovered this wonderful website, it's great that there is so much enthusiasm for Leeds. Having lived here for most of my life, I am only just beginning to discover what a great place it is, and am really enjoying having a good mooch round and taking photos of buildings I like, such as the marvellous Temple Mills on Marshall Street, and the old Holbeck Library on the corner of Marshall Street and Nineveh Road. I'm very sad about the First White Cloth Hall on Kirkgate, I don't know if it will be saved, but we live in hope!

Hi sujay. Thanks for the different view photo. From when I first came across Secret Leeds just a few years back I then started to look closer at buildings that I regularly saw. I was vaguely aware of some nice features but I did not really appreciate what was there. It therefore surprises me that even now I still spot things that I don't recall seeing before. Just for example the many features on Leeds City Markets such that I seem to spot something new to me every time I look close! Some things though are hidden. For example, passing the Richer premises today (April 23 2014) at the old Chest Clinic I saw an open hatch/door at street level on the Vicar Lane side. I've never seen that open before but I was on a bus and did not have time to get off to have a nosey. From the bus it did look as if there was a cellar. I wonder what (if anything) may be there, such any remains of the Chest Clinic?

I just tried to upload a photo I took of one of my favourite derelict buildings, but a message came up saying the file needs to be smaller than 2048 KBytes. Don't know what to do about that! It's a house (Georgian?) just by the Parish Church, on the corner of Church Row and High Court, which has been derelict for a long time. Recently I noticed a sold sign on and seen builders going in and out, so hopefully it's going to be restored and not demolished. I might have a look on Leodis to see if there are any old photos of it in its better days.
