I had to laugh when I read this quote about the new owners intentions in that article:“Think bohemian, think Amsterdam, think cool,” said Michael Ingall, chief executive of property developer Allied London. When he says "think Amsterdam" does he mean people openly smoking illicit substances without fear of the law and ladies of varying degrees of sophistication advertising their charms? If so, you can already get that in the city centre so it's not likely to attract many new visitors... Or are they planning on planting some tulips?

There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

The "New Dock." as it will be re-named back to its old name, is just awful. The place is full of students who are studying so not shopping. They would sit in Starbucks and Wi-fi sit drinking one coffee for free. It is a cold lifeless sterile place, which after dark becomes dangerous with all that open water about. There is a drinking place, but I never went in. It would have been better to keep the Sea Scouts on their island and promote the nautical connections. Fish and chips, seafood places. Or canal history... Tesco's is the most expensive shopping outside Harvey Nicks!! Parking is terrible.

Ha Ha....you can already smell those "illicit" substances all round town now ! As for the ladies of dubious repute....well,I think Leeds has had a few of those for some time too !
