A friend of mine was the surveyor when those cottages were demolished. Before they were pulled down he found a wooden box containing glass photographic negatives in the cellar. They were held in individual numbered slots, but after removing the negs and looking at them (unfortunately, he didn't put them down in any particular order) he discovered a hand-written index on a piece of paper in the bottom of the box. If only the index had been left on the top, we'd know where the pictures were taken. Ooops!
