Is it possible to drop off anywhere else and not have to go into the short stay carpark. Maybe on the approach roads? You can't stop and unload on any of the airport roads. However, you can I believe go into the long stay car park, and drop the pax off who get the shuttle bus to the terminal. The car doesn't have to pay if it's out within 1 hour. It's possible this little jape won't be permitted for much longer.

That was then. From what I read in the YEP all cars will have to pay to get out as they go through the exit, parking charges being based on automatic number recognition cameras (and not tickets).Even with the previous system I managed to get stuck in the car park. I went in and realised the flight I was meeting was going to be a few minutes late so I went back out so as not to use up my 10 minutes unnecessarily. 5 minutes later I went back in, the flight still had not arrived so I went straight to the exit but it wouldn't let me out, and I had no cash with me in the car !The small print on the sign said only one free exit permitted per time segment. What a way to treat your customers ! You couldn't make it up.

A truly shoddy way to treat their customers. The shuttle buses I've seen won't be able to cope with moving that number of passenger back and forth (the shuttle buses I've seen on recent visits have been of the Optare Solo type) so there will be massive queues and more upset customers.I guess the council will have to put a traffic warden on permanent airport duty now as virtually everyone will be getting dropped off on the yellow lines on the public approach roads.Personally, I'll fly from somewhere else where they don't begrudge fare paying passenger 5 minutes to get into or out of a car outside the terminal...

Almost makes you embarrased to be from Leeds doesn't it? As I recall, once on the road in, there is no way out without going through the car parks is there. And of course the roads have both double yellow lines and no loading markers so stopping on them, not even to drop off or pick up (except in one particular circumstance). A pure rip-off through and through, I'd rather pay the extra to go to (shhhh), Manchester on principle

I'm reminded that a similar scheme is in operation at East Midlands Airport (EMA), although they "only" charge £1 for the privilege. The short approach road to EMA from the main road is now chaos whenever a flight comes in as cars zoom in from all directions to pick folk up (or drop them off) without entering the car park. I predict something similar at Yeadon.

Using Google maps, the comment as you hover over the markersays" Small and dirty, little to do"Kinda agree with the small comment.when I flew out last year.Don't know if things have changed since. I found it not user friendly at all. Pokey comes to mind and confusing. The poulation of the Leeds and Bradford area deserve a far better setup than LBA offers at the moment. In saying the above however did I read somewhere that plans are afoot to spend big money on terminal redevolpment.

I think they have voted with their feet Chameleon which is why you can't fly to the Capital. You can turn up at Leeds Station in central Leeds 10 minutes before your train departs and two hours later be getting off in Kings Cross with Taxis or the underground available to deliver you anywhere in Central London.Alternatively you could pay through the nose (taxi or car parking) to get to an airport 10 miles from Leeds city centre over an hour before take off. After an hour plus at the airport and an hour in flight you touch down at an airport at least 15 miles outside London where you may need to hang around for baggage claim and then have an initially fairly limited choice of transport options into London. Or rather you can't because as you point out the route is no longer covered. The low cost airline that wasn't all that low cost after you add up the two singles and extras couldn't make it pay.PS I'm not just trying to keep CNOSNI in a job, honest
