There used to be a shop in the Merrion centre (on the corner towards the back - it may still be there) which seemed to sell nothing other than hoover bags and swimwear.

It must be something in the water. In Otley, just around the corner from the Prince record store and Thai takeaway, is a fantastic shop which sells a combination of kitchenware and pet accessories. Next door was a shop selling cut-price sweets and second-hand books!Welcome to the whacky world of Wharfedale!

Whatever next,dolls eyes and knicker elastic! Speaking of which I remember a Dolls Hospital up an arcade in Leeds.We had to take my sister's favourite doll there for a new eye when one of them got poked out,It wasn't me.........well ok I own up after 45 years it was me and I drew on it with a biro aswell!!

...and of course there's the famous Bobats Store on Brudenell Grove in Hyde Park. Mr Bobat ,allegedly, had everything anybody ever wanted or needed in his shop, and he knew exactly where it was. If by chance he didn't have it you could " call back in an hour and I'll have it for you". Excellent stuff!!

I should point out that the point of this thread was to record quirky shops,stalls etc THAT ARE STILL THERE. not ones no longer in existence.
