D2G wrote: Ok you win lol, but rodley is smaller I'm not talking about the whole of Morley even, just the centre. There's probably 5/6 more in Morley proper - not counting Drigh, Gildersome, East and West Ardlsey, Churwell or Tingley. Morley must have been a very religious place at one time, I know I'm off topic - but I've never seen anywhere like Morley for lack of pubs in the centre and plethora of places of worship.Batley and Dewsbury have lively areas where youngsters carouse and get p!ssed Morley has no scene like that - if you want that sort of thing you have to go to one of those places. In the centre of Ossett (not as big as Morley) there's about a dozen pubs - on Queen Street there are two - and the Slip on Albion Steet - I've been brought up here so until I thought about it it never struck me as odd - but it is - it's an odd place is Morley.

I guess "newer" towns are less religous now and that is why there are a lack of churches. This also explains why they are all being turned into apartments. You will find smaller places such as Shadwell seem to have a larger congregation rather than say a larger place such as Bramley has in the church there. I think this is more to do with location and also average population age
