If you would like to know all about the quarry and its railway including photos, my book "The Story of a Small Yorkshire Dales Village" depicts life in Pool-in-Wharfedale through the centuries. Also included is the history Pool-in-Wharfedale railway, which was a victim of the Beaching Axe, Pool's own private spring fed waterworks, toll roads through the village, life during the wars, etc., etc.The price is £13.00 from Pool Post Office.
