I was just wondering on my drive into work today how old the Venerable Bede church in Bramley is? I thought maybe '50s/'60s but don't know for sure.I thought if anyone knows it will be someone on Secret Leeds! Here's a link to it on street view if you're not sure of the one I mean - http://g.co/maps/9ttk8

I wish they hadn't bothered. Every time I go past I think what a dreadful unwelcoming place it looks - a complete blot on the landscape.
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, moves on; nor all thy Piety nor all thy Wit can call it back to cancel half a Line, nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.

I've always thought the design must have been heavily influenced by the Electricity Board.

SPLAY=FULL Ah never thought of checking Leodis, I guess it's quite hard to date because it's essentially a big brick box. It's not the prettiest of buildings but I like it for some reason, then again I think I have weird taste in architecture as I liked the International Pool and the building that used to be on the arena site...

There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.
