I knew the design was inspired by the Egyptian temple of Horus in Edfu, but I hadn't realised it was an exact spitting image replica of it.I've done a comparison picture herehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn/277844 ... 441709/The Egyptian version seems to be out living it's Leeds twin at the moment

So what will they do then phill, will they fix it or just leave it to the devices of mother nature?I kinda think the poor old buildings been short changed by the YEP with the story they ran im sure they could have researched it a bit more and shown the picture of the original.

They'll have to put it right no doubt Brandy. It's grade 1 which is as good as it gets in terms of historical interest and preservation. This collapse is bad news indeed. I said to the boys we should abseil through the skylight rather than tunnel our way in.It's set us back weeks now ll

Call me cynical but I reckon this is the latest attempt by some unscrupulous property developer to rid the site of this pesky grade 1 listed building so that he can have the site clear to throw up yet another block of shoe box flats built from 100% buy to let mortgage money that banks have loaned greedy second property buyers who all think they will be getting a good pension off of making people who now cant afford to get into the property markets pay extortionate rent as the council havent built any more social housing with affordable rents despite having sold off council housing... how do you like them apples?!
