Sir John - there's no "was" about it concerning 'Whitelock's'.Its my understanding that the oldest inn in Leeds was the "White Hart" situated in a yard off the east side of Briggate . demolished c1900, Queen's Arcade now occupies the site.Leodis pic from c1890
