It's surprising to realise that the very sad manner of death of David Oluwale was a few days over 50 years back. It just does not seem to have been that long ago.

Excellent idea, the council have no money for Care Homes and many other local necessities (wait for your Council Tax bill this year) yet they can build another bloody bridge named after a person very few will know. End of rant.

Though at this time of year I don't do as much walking around I still take my simple digital pocket camera with me when I do (I prefer it to using my smart phone camera) but I rarely take photos now. One reason is that there is just such a lot of major work going on (buildings and roads) that I cannot really keep up with and also the works seem to be going on forever! For example I half expect the completion of the renovation into apartments of the old Public Dispensary on North Street may not finish in my lifetime!
PS. I'm glad I don't have a car and so do not drive in the centre of Leeds as the eternal road works must make it horrendous. It seems to be chaotic at the Corn Exchange/New Market Street/Call Lane/Vicar Lane/New York Street area!

Hi Leodian Your photographic input to the site has been fantastic and i would like to say thank you for all your effort it will be a sad day when you stop.I know some days it must have been a trek walking around the city center but it has been very worthwhile to us members.This is just to let you know at times you might not get a lot of feedback but i for one appreciate what you do and i think that will go for many members on S/L.

I totally agree with Tilly's comments.

Also agreed and I would add that because of the way you also annotate your pictures that one day in the future they will be of historical importance too especially your portrait of a changing city.

As the Sergeant Major would have it "Carry on that man!"
