I came across this whilst generally rooting about the internet. Apparently these sor tof thimngs were huge attractions and it was where everyone headed on a sunny day.http://www.outwoodcommunityvideo.co.uk/H%20PARK.html

Very interesting. It was West Yorkshire Highways workshops when I used to go there in the eighties and nineties. A fantastic beautifully equipped plant and commercial vehicle repair facility. I also remember that up to the early seventies Lofthouse had its own telephone exchange -Lofhouse Gate - covering parts of East Ardsley, Thorpe, Outwood etc. Not sure about Rothwell.

I think it is curently being bult on, Houses I think but not clear from road.Rothwell has a telephone exchange on Butcehr Lane, 3 storey 50's prefab building round the back of the horrid red brich Morrisons.

definitely houses. I did a search on lofhouse park and came up with a housing firm already pretending there were finished properties.There still is a telephone exchange in lofthouse, my ISP has conveniently (not) prevented me using asdl from it for 3 weeks. according to a website called samknows the exchange is at the bottom end of the golf course. i'm just up t'other side of t'ill in Outwood
