You know, we shared our memories on here of the traditional Christmas and visits to Santa and even mentioned that there seemed to be so many to chose from.Rather sad therefore to read this in the Evening Post and realise that something we thought so important is missing:'In Christmasses past, major department stores such as Schofield's and Lewis's boasted elaborate grottos and were part of the seasonal magic for generations of children. But those stores have gone and one parent, Mr Alan Busby, of Beeston, told of his dismay in failing to find a Leeds city centre grotto where his three-year-old daughter Angel could see Father Christmas.'Surely somewhere could manage this and even turn it to the commercial gain that seems to drive everything these days - as a parent, remembering seeing our children's joy each year showed they felt this to be an important part of Christmas just as we did. Have attitudes changed so much and tradition drifted so far away....
