Hi all, basically I am a student at the University of Leeds and i've decided to do a photography project on trending cultures. One of my interests are the currently closed Leeds pubs, which are still there,as pubs, but not open for trade. I'm from Birmingham, so Leeds is fairly new to me, I'm sorry if this forum is not for things like this, but if anybody could help give me a few closed pubs name/ streets this would be amazing, and you will be contributing to my degree!Thank youAmy

Hi amyart93, a good pub to check out would be The Royalty up on the top of Otley Chevin. Yorkgate is the name of the road its on. It used to be one of my favorite places to have a pint of Timothy Taylors 'Landlord' (as drunk by Madonna no less!) and enjoy the panoramic views. Sadly its been shut for a few years now and nobody seems to know if its going to reopen. As for the rest, well how long have you got...?

Sorry I've just learned that The Royalty will reopen on the 27th of February - next Thursday after being close for over 3 years. I would have been gutted if this landmark pub had been turned into holiday lets.

Might have to be quick to photograph that one bbt I suspect it may be years before the wrecking ball appears
