YEP today says the Old Peacock has run its race. The LUSC which ran it have finally run out of coin and have handed it back to the owners /Brewers.Seems hard to make it pay with only 23 days a year of strong trade.

It's a shame that the old place is closing but with the sales of beer in the ground and the new pavilion it's days we're numbered, problem is there is nothing around that part of town to boost trade, only match days. If the casino plan is approved that will also affect the pub. It's seen some great European history and the football banter must have been fantastic over the years. I'm sure I remember fans sat on the roof at one game watching the match. RIPThe Old Peacock

Has it actually closed?
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

Well yes,and no.Theres no one opening the doors, but its still stood.I think it needs a slight change of direction. The place needs 365 days a year income, and as we know most pubs struggle to do that now, perhaps the pub may well become one of those places that has a chinese/indian restaurant incorporated into it?Just thinking out loud here.
