Does anyone remember when Sweet Street looked like this? (Crytal Palace pub)

thanks for the replies guys. so what was Cricket Wickety where LA Bowl was? the LA Bowl sign is still there in the trees incidentallly.so can someone tell me when the crystal palace and building next to it were demolished to make way for Beweleys Hotel?also what was where halfords and adjacent car park and city walk velocity flats is now?

They weren't demolished for Bewleys they must have been further down Sweet Street. There was an LCC buidling and compound on the site that is now occupied by Bewleys and that complex I would imagine date as back to the early 70s at the latest. It certainly housed the leisure services admin and LCC highways or equivalent in the 80's and early to mid 90's

The building may just have been the brick building in your original photo as its similar although not at the angle I remember.

The combination of bus lanes and surrounding footpaths would certainly have a footprint inside the wall. The shrubery also visible was from memory wuite wide nearer the apex of the bend.
