A mate of mine came acoss an old photo that he has of the Union Cross Inn, Stocks Hill, Armley. According to Leodis the pub was demolished in the early 1990's but my mate is convinced that the Geldards coaches building on Stocks Hill is the old pub ! His theory is that it was not the pub that was knocked down but the building next door to it. Looking at the pictures of the two buildings it does look very similar, all be it with the Geldards version having had a few alterations. The large window on the left on the old picture marries up with the boarded up window of Geldards and the shutter door of Geldards looks like it could have been the smaller window on the right hand side of the pub. Could it be the same building ? Is there anyone out there who remembers the Union Cross inn and remembers where it stood ?Having a few prob uploading the pics, I'll try again.

Ok, I've just read that images don't always load straight away so I will give it a few hours to see if they come up.Regards.

The Union Cross was over the road from Geldards, set back in the yard. It was demolished in 1992 and I was one of a very small handful of peeps who were there protesting at the start of the demolition.

This is from 1973 around the time this was our hide-out. Seeing it like this brings back memories.

What was written on the plaque above the door, or was it just the name of the pub, Chris?
