SecretLeeds - History, culture and architecture in Leeds

I seem to recall the "Poly" being a renaming of Kitson College, which had itself moved from a site in the Woodhouse Lane/Rockingham Street area. It may also have had connections with other colleges/night school establishments. This could be my memory playing tricks. Then again, the Poly may have wished to expunge the past in their longstanding attempts to upgrade their image.

In the 70s after following United at away matches midweek we always ended up at the all night café just over Leeds bridge opposite the Adelphi, can't recall the name but we used to refer to the place as the "Captains Table" as the owner always wore a Yachting cap. the food was good but as we were starving in the early hours we would have eaten anything.    

Bridge End Cafe? We used it regularly in the 60s and 70s for breakfast on our daily walk from the depot in Kidacre Street (Side of Hunslet Lane yard) on our way to City Station or bus stops to get to the various stations, sheds and yards. Never knew it was 24hr.

That's the name i could not bring to mind ( a café on the end of a bridge, well)     not sure about a regular 24 hour but he would stay open as long as there were customers.
