Lamberts Yard and the oldest timber framed house in Leeds

I passed by Lambert's Yard off Lower Briggate on July 8 and noticed that work was going on. I was passing by on July 11 and as work was still going on I asked the workmen if they minded if I popped in to take some photos and they kindly agreed if I was quick and took care. The yard and its now unused premises seem to be undergoing major renovation work. As this thread mainly relates to Lambert's Yard I thought I would post some photos of the yard that I took on July 11 2013. This photo shows a view looking to Lower Briggate. On the left is a over hanging structure that may (or may not!) be the top floor of what remains of the 3-tiered 17th century house that Lambert's Yard is noted for. I would like to thank the workmen for allowing me access.

This photo (taken on July 11 2013) shows a view inside Lambert's Yard looking to Lower Briggate. Note the demolition work going on, which seemed as if it was from inside the premises not the yard.

Thanks for those pics Leo,ive got to say that you must be the most prolific Leeds photographer i know.That building is a 3 tier timber building,though how much is left of the original would be interesting to see.

Cheers for that cnosni. It is so easy nowadays with a small digital camera that fits in a pocket and any photos that do not come out good enough, or are just surplus, can be easily deleted. Printing is quite cheap, so I always have the photos on a memory card printed as well as saving them on memory sticks before I eventually remove them from my computer to save space. One day though I must get round to putting information on those prints that I have not yet done so, which will be many hundreds, before I no longer recall where and when they were taken!

It will be interesting to see how it looks when the area is fully redeveloped.

Popped in today. All open. Old building looking a bit shabby. Glad they've left the old hairdressers sign.
