Would it be a good idea to get snapping all the old pubs of Leeds in one collection maybe? The Black lion....Just around the corner to the Scarborough taps... What's it called these days???

The old Scotsman pub opposite the Masons arms. I love these ornamental; busts above the door. They only seem to appear on Tetley houses... Anybody have any gen on them?

This is my kinda thread - I'm in the process of getting pics of as many as I can - I'll put them here and/or Flickr.
As an aside, and I think you may confuse some here, Phill, but the Horse and Trumpet shouldn't really be here should it?? it isnt lost yet.
I think the Black Lion is called Spencers at present.

The Legendary Fishermans Hut (Fishy'ut) pn east Street. One of a pair of famous pubs - the Black Dog was on the opposite corner and has now been demolished. I've been in both but was hard-pressed to remember which was which!
I confess I originally had this incorrectly identified - mea culpa!!

The White Stag on North Street - when I first went in here it still had a 'men only ' bar!!. The pub is up for sale and has been closed for months - but perhaps its not dead yet
Stop Press -! I noticed today (May 9th) that it has reopened!
Stop Stop Press - lasted about three months and closed again!

The Goodmans on Goodman Street, Hunslet - The sign above the door says' Goodman House' .There used to be two pubs called the Goodman - the Goodman Arms and the Goodman Tavern - and I cant honestly remember which was which!. I THINK Ive been in this one - I've definitely been in the other which was next to Doncasters Monk Bridge works in Holbeck, when I worked nearby in the 80's - (it had outside toilets) but that one has been demolished
stop press - this was the Goodman Tavern - heres an interesting then and now pic when compared with above

The former Cherry Tree. It was here that I worked behind the bar for the one & only time in my life - A brief summer job in the mid 70s (76 I think). I remember that the bitter was 'Brew 10' and we also sold Worthington 'E' - at 23p a pint if memory serves....

The Star and Garter Kirkstall - a fine old coaching Inn and listed building. It fell on hard times and has gone through a few changes - notably the 'Barcelona Night Club' and 'Funtasia'
